in the doldrums

August 23, 2009

Waiting for the muse to strike….this is my first August in twenty two years that I haven’t had to get anybody ready for school. It feels weird and unsettling and has me wondering how the profile of my days will shake out. I am working on a small experimental shaped tapestry on my Victoria frame loom which, if successful, could lead me off in a new direction. In the meantime, my large loom sits with a tapestry that follows rather conventional lines and beckons me to get a move on,and my easel sports an unfinished portrait. And yet here I sit checking my blog and making lists from the Pierce County Library catalogue of the DVDs I want to check out. Strange times.

Why me

August 18, 2009

On this soon to be scorching August day, I thought it was time to be inside for a while and test drive the blogging world. I am a tapestry artist and painter and would like to get the word out about handwoven tapestry, my work and share some of my fellow tapestry weavers’ work as well. I live in the Northwest and my work reflects my environment…water, mud, tides, light. As soon as I figure out how to upload photos, you’ll see them here but in the meantime , check out my website at www.margomacdonald,com
